While flipping through channels on tv yesterday I seem to have come to a "light-bulb over the head" realization. Which is this, they are running out of things to make tv shows about. Now watching a family with limited i.q. and total lack of manners is a hit show. Can you guess which show I am speaking of?
That is right. None other than "Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo" The idea that this is a hit tv is very bothersome. Are we so lacking in society that watching people behave that way and put themselves on display like that constitutes entertainment. I have ended up watching a few episodes not because it is funny or entertaining but with morbid curiousity. Kind of like when you drive by a car accident how you slow down to get a good look, not like you want to watch people bleeding from head wounds or anything but still it is really hard to look away.
The latest train wreck that I am finding hard to look away from is this new show about leaving the Amish community. The name of the show is escaping me right now but really this constitutes good tv too. Watching other people make huge life changes and head on a path of destruction like the one of Kate on that show should not be good tv.
I think shows about finding yourself and becoming who you were meant to be is one thing and can be very educational but not dancing on a stipper pole and drinking too much. Yet, same as with the car accident we all just can't seem to look away and look it reruns on tv every 3 hours for the day so you can watch it over and over again.
What do you think of some of these tv shows they keep coming up with?
